However, after hitting the 1 year mark the spout stopper broke, the plastic jar cracked and the motor is starting to make strange sounds. Granted I did use it everyday for a year and washed it in a dishwasher. Still I think that a blender should last a bit longer. ...more

We use it 2 times every day (& sometimes more) with ice, fruit, protein powder, etc. We fill it to the top most times too. It blends great every time. No problems at all, ever! I bought this because it is inexpensive. It works nicely as a crusher if pulsed with five or six ice cubes. Run it longer between pulses to get shaved ice. There is no on/off button: if the unit is plugged in and you touch the Pulse button, it will go. Unplug the unit until you have everything ready. When you are finished, unplug it. ...more

I am using frozen fruit pieces, but no ice cubes, and it handles those just fine. When making several smoothies at once, I use the spigot, if only 1 or 2, then I simply pour. There have been occasional small leaks with the spigot, but I found that lightly oiling the rubber parts after washing before reassembly fixed that.
