Admittedly I am addicted to kitchen toys and the Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome did not disappoint. The design is ergonomic and easy to use. The motor is powerful and clean up is a snap. This blender will not completely replace my rotary whisk hand mixer but the fact is that I have not gotten it out of its drawer since buying the "Smart-Stick". I had been shopping around for a hand blender for making ice cream bases but had been put off by the cost of many of the hand blenders out there. I discovered this on Amazon and decided to try this because if it was a lousy item I'd only be out just a tad over $12.00. This hand blender is EXCELLENT for the price. It is sturdy, takes heat very well, blends excellently (at one speed), won't scratch your cookware or pots due to the heavy duty plastic exterior, and cleans up very easily. It is extremely powerful without making much of a mess. In the small container provided I can easily make frozen smoothies with frozen or fresh fruit and ice. I have also made frozen margaritas without any difficulty. It actually chops ice better than my (cheap) blender. It makes short work of tomato sauce and pureed soups.
