... We use our blender nearly every day (smoothies, etc). Having a nice plastic carafe is wonderful! You need to be careful to insure that the base is FIRMLY attached to the carafe to avoid any mishaps, however. The base does not seal as well on the plastic carafe as it did on our previous glass one. However, the safety of not having a heavy glass carafe is well-worth the "safety check" before using!
