The blade bearing is a bushing type and finally wore out. We've probably used it an average of 2-3 times per week the whole time. It makes GREAT smoothies. Finally the bushing wore out and it is $20 to replace it as you have to buy the whole pitcher/lid/blade/spout as an assembly. If I'd paid $400-600 for a VitaMix and it lasted this long I'd be upset, but for $30 you can't go wrong. You get what you pay for which is a disposable appliance. I will ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2005-08-28 Summary: Works Great! ... I bought this smoothie maker with the hopes that it would do a better job than my blender...and was thrilled with the results. It has a much more powerful motor, and can chop up ice cubes and frozen fruit much more efficiently. It even has pour lines that help you put in the right amount of liquid and solids. My smoothies have now been coming out much smoother and lighter, and I can actually drink them! (When the blender made them I had to eat them with a spoon because they were so thick.)
