It got especially heavy use (more than once/day for several weeks) after someone in our house had oral surgery. It is noisy and nostalgic as others have eloquently written; it is reliable and shows no signs of disintegrating. Before we had kids we made margarita's and Pina Colada's regularly. I remember after a month the motor stopped so I popped the bottom off and noticed a fine looking motor with a "conservative" fuse. I went to the hardware store and picked up the next two size fuses because in my opinion we just needed more power. I only had to use the next size up and we haven't replaced anything since. I'd say after 8 years we've probably loaded and crushed full ice cubes ...more
